Clearwater Technical Group Inc., an Idaho Corporation whose technical resources are based in Orofino, Idaho, has joined forces with the Washington State University Foundation to begin a year-long software migration that includes converting backend data services from Sybase to Oracle followed by a move from a client based Windows application to an enterprise web environment. At the culmination of the project, the WSU Foundation staff will have real time, web-enabled access to critical data paramount to the foundation’s fundraising success.

The WSU Foundation was established in 1979 to promote, accept, and maximize private support for programs, initiatives and properties of the University, and to prudently manage, invest, and steward the assets entrusted to it by the University and its alumni, friends, and donors. As a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, theWSU Foundation is governed, operated and administered separately from the University and is recognized as the University’s sole fundraising organization.

CTG has provided database and application support to a number of institutions and non-profit organizations including: University of Idaho; Texas A&M Foundation; University of California, Los Angeles; University of Maryland, Baltimore; University of Virginia; Jewish National Fund; and more. The CTG staff is a collection of creative thinkers constantly looking for ways to improve the way organizations do business. Founded in March of 2009, CTG began with a specific goal of providing high quality, affordable consultation to university advancement groups as they transition from SunGard Advance Windows to SunGard Advance Web Access (AWA). At the time of incorporation, Christopher Merry, a founding partner and current principal consultant, had been working independently for a number of universities, assisting with Oracle data migrations and AWA implementations. Since that time, CTG has begun to broaden its focus and reach out to a variety of vendors in an effort to become THE provider of choice when it comes to the integration and extensibility of fundraising software.
